When we re-opened after the first lockdown last year we found running The Barton Granary & Brimbles more stressful than we could have possibly imagined. It took us all of last summer to get to grips with the Covid-19 protocols and cleaning regime, plus we had to deal with floods and other difficult situations, none of which we saw coming. After the latest lockdown we hoped that we would be better equipped to cope with this new normal, but we have now been hit by a different set of problems including severe staff shortages and serious illness in our own family and have concluded that we really need to change the way we run things for our own well-being. To this end we have reluctantly decided to close The Granary with effect from 4th January 2022.
We will be continuing to let Brimbles (which now accommodates up to 12 guests, plus 3 babies) and we are delighted to announce that our shepherd’s hut, Desdemona (which sleeps 2 adults) will be available to rent alongside Brimbles and, very occasionally, will be available for midweek breaks when we have no guests in Brimbles.
Photos and more information will be up on the website in due course.
